CareDates manages appointments on your iPhone and in the calendar account you choose. We do not operate a developer-hosted patient database, sell health data, or include advertising or analytics in the app.
With your permission, CareDates reads and writes the Apple Calendar you select. When you connect a supported MyChart health system, you authorize access on that system's sign-in page. The app retrieves patient demographics used to identify the connected patient, appointment details including appointment notes and instructions, and clinic/location information directly from the health system. The app does not receive your MyChart password or write to your medical record.
Access tokens, a device key and connection information are saved in your iPhone's Keychain for authorized updates. Appointment details are saved in Calendar. A small appointment snapshot is shared locally with the CareDates widget, and appointment reminders use iPhone notifications.
Location is used on the phone to suggest the shuttle stop. Camera and selected photos can be used to read appointment sheets; text recognition runs on the phone. These features do not upload your location or photos to CareDates.
Your calendar provider, such as iCloud or another calendar service, may store and synchronize events on its servers. People you share that calendar with, and other apps you give Calendar access to, may see its events. You control calendar sharing through Calendar and the calendar provider. CareDates does not control copies other people or apps have already received.
Disconnecting MyChart in CareDates stops future imports and removes the saved connection credentials from the app's Keychain storage. Existing events in your real treatment calendar remain. You can also revoke CareDates access in MyChart. Disconnecting a sandbox connection removes the dedicated test calendar.
Deleting the app alone may leave Keychain items, Calendar events, shared calendar copies or copies held by others. Disconnect in CareDates before deleting the app if you want to clear its saved connection credentials. Use Calendar to manage events and sharing. Deleting shared events can affect the other people sharing that calendar.
The CareDates website provides support information and a sign-in return page. Its hosting service processes network information needed to deliver those pages. If you contact CareDates Support, we receive the information you choose to send so we can respond.
