CareDates is a personal iPhone app for a patient going through treatment and the family members helping them. It organizes appointments in a shared calendar to help the family coordinate transportation.
CareDates reads the calendar you select. A supported MyChart connection requests read-only access to patient demographics, appointments including appointment notes and instructions, and clinic/location information. It does not write to the medical record.
Live UW Medicine/Fred Hutch MyChart synchronization is not enabled yet. It depends on provider activation, verified appointment coverage and patient or authorized proxy consent. The existing shared calendar continues to work.
When available, automatic updates run when the app is opened, periodically while active, and when iOS permits background activity. Internet access, authorization, provider availability and iOS scheduling can delay updates. Continuous or immediate synchronization is not guaranteed. Review the connection/update status and confirm uncertain scheduling details with MyChart or the care team.
Appointment details are written into your selected calendar. Your calendar provider may store and synchronize those details on its servers. People you share the calendar with, and apps you give Calendar access to, may see them. CareDates does not operate a developer-hosted patient database. See the privacy policy for storage, support and deletion details.
You can disconnect MyChart in CareDates Settings or revoke access in MyChart. Disconnecting stops future imports; existing real appointments stay in Calendar. To stop sharing Calendar events, change the calendar's sharing permissions. Copies already received by others may remain.
CareDates is an organizer. It does not provide medical advice or replace your care team's schedule and instructions.
